Our story began on April 25, 1986, when three innovative individuals came together to open Union Coffee Tea and Spice in Indianapolis’ Union Station. These partners were dedicated to quality products and the best possible customer service, thus was born the concept of fresh roasted coffee, even “while you wait”, and completely spoiling customers. In August of 1986, one of the original partners bought out the others and by 1987 had transformed Union Coffee Tea and Spice into The Fine Grind.

Throughout the next twenty plus years, The Fine Grind continued to grow and expand with multiple locations in Indianapolis, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee, and eventually adding a presence in the cyber world to its addresses. Even with changes, growth and expansion,The Fine Grind never lost sight of the initial principles on which it was founded…….quality products and outstanding customer service.  

After many successful years, it came time for the owner to look for someone to continue The Fine Grind with the same commitment to quality and service on which its reputation had been founded. In the spring of 2007, this dedication was found in a former employee from The Fine Grind’s first year of business in Union Station. The Fine Grind was purchased, moved and re-opened in its new location in Kettering, Ohio by the end of 2007.

Just like with the original concept of The Fine Grind, our first and most important priority is you…..the customer. We strive to provide you with the absolute best products and service. Our coffees are roasted to your specifications after we receive your order and are shipped within 24 hours of roasting. The teas and hot chocolate offered by The Fine Grind have been selected because of their outstanding quality, because we believe that you deserve nothing less than the best.
